Vitamin Herbs


Since time immemorial, plants have been used to treat various health problems. In fact, an entire system of studies called ‘Ayurveda’ deals with the use of plants and plant products as means to treat a range of problems related to the human body and is really successful as far as end results are concerned. An herb is any plant that has medicinal properties.

Vitamins are very important for the body and must be consumed regularly. Due to varied cuisines, culture and food habits, many fail to necessary amounts of vitamin herbs in their daily diet. This results in vitamin deficiency which again like any other deficiency causes a lot of problems, some of which are really serious. In order to prevent this, have vitamin supplements to make up for that inadequacy. Instead of using vitamin pills, try herbs for a change. Herbs like any synthetic supplement must be taken for at least three months before the effects can actually be seen.

Some species of Echinacea is used as an herb to treat common cold, flu, sinusitis and even act as a guard against future bouts. Garlic and gingko are also good herbs with a rich mix of all the essential vitamins needed for the body. These herbs are available in the form of pills and tonics too. Many may not prefer consuming them directly. They can opt for the tablet or the tonic form. In fact, these herbs are properly cleaned and treated before using in the pill which makes it safer than consuming it raw or as an additive to any food item.
