I am sure there are times when looking at the mirror you would say to yourself, ‘Wished I had skin like a two year old child.’ There is always success if you have the determination and the will power.
Skin provides the outer layer of the body and protects us from heat, light, injury and other kinds of infections. It therefore becomes an absolute necessity to protect our skin.
If you are dreaming of healthy and supple skin, then all you need is a little bit of time and attention. Some simple tips can keep your skin healthy and glowing. Your daily routine should include hydration, balanced diet and protection from sun and wind. With age your
skin gets drier and it is important to keep your skin always hydrated. So drinking plenty of water will keep your skin healthy and moist. Strong soaps or too many hot baths can dry your skin.
There are four basic steps to
skin care. The first among the four is cleansing.
Proper cleansing of the skin, to get rid of impurities and makeup, is important to avoid acne and other skin problems.
The next step is toning which not only cleanses the skin further but it also nourishes, hydrates and freshens up your skin.
Skin pores are tightened with cleansing.
Exfoliating helps in removing the dead cells from the
skin and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. The younger skin that appears after exfoliating looks beautiful and glowing.
The last step is that of moisturizing.
Moisturizing the skin is important as it prevents it from drying up. Using a moisturizer after a shower can help moisten your skin. For people who have oily skin, they can use oil-free moisturizers that are commonly available in the markets. Having a balanced diet with all the essential vitamins and minerals are necessary to keep your skin glowing and healthy.
Our skin is sensitive and often exposed to the sun. As a result there are chances of sun damaged skin, even if we love to get tanned. The most common types of sun damage are dry skin, sunburn, actinic keratosis, and photoaging. To prevent your skin from
sun damage you need to take a few precautions. Apply a sunscreen with a SPF (sun protection factor) of 15 or above, before going outdoors. Use a sunblock on your lips with a SPF 20 or more and you should limit your outdoors when the sun is at its peak. Wearing long pants, and sunglasses protects your skin from being sun burned.
Another common
skin infection found especially among adolescents is acne. Acne is associated with sebaceous glands that secret more sebum during puberty resulting in blocked follicles.
Acne should never be neglected as it gives rise to pimples, spots and scarring.
Acne requires immediate medical attention but you can also reduce acne by using a cleanser specially suited for acne and tie your hair when sleeping as oil in your hair can aggravate the acne problem.
So for a healthy, glowing skin all you need is time, care and love!
