Prediabetes is a condition where blood sugar level is greater than normal but not elevated to higher levels to be diagnosed as
diabetes. Our body synthesizes the glucose from food to energy for growth and body activities with the help of a hormone called insulin secreted by the organ called pancreas, which is a vital organ of the digestive system.
Diabetes is a serious ailment when the blood glucose levels are higher and the body cells are not receiving energy from glucose. Most of the people experience
prediabetes before complete diabetes. It is the type two diabetes that follows prediabetes. Prediabetes is a medical condition that has to be treated. The better part of this disease is that the prevention of type 2
diabetes is possible if prediabetes is diagnosed.
Insulin resistance is the major cause. Even though pancreas secretes enough insulin, the body cells will not accept and utilize insulin to synthesize glucose into energy. This condition is also termed impaired glucose tolerance. People who have
prediabetes are observed to develop type two diabetes within ten years. Obesity, unhealthy food habits and an indolent lifestyle can cause pre diabetes. If the amount of muscle and fat are huge it will create a high resistant towards insulin and leads to
prediabetes. The normal glucose level is 100 mg/dl. If it is 100mg/dl to 125mg/dl, then it suggests the presence of pre diabetes.
