Diabetes is caused by the disorder of metabolic system when human body fails to secrete or assimilate a hormone called insulin, which helps to convert sugar or glucose in to energy.
Diabetes is detected when the blood sugar levels are abnormally and constantly high. Diabetes is classified into two major types called type one and type two.
Causes Of Type One Diabetes
Type-one diabetes is caused when the autoimmune system of the body malfunctions. When the beta cells, which are the useful body cells, are destroyed by the body’s own immune system the blood sugar level gets disturbed and the body is affected by diabetes. The causes of the type one
diabetes are below:
Genetically inherited
Poor diet
Malnutrition
Abnormal secretion of some hormones which destroy insulin
Type one diabetes is a genetically inherited disorder. If any one of the parents or grand parents is affected by diabetes the person have higher chances of getting affected by
diabetes.
Poor diet will dump the metabolic system into disorders and the most common metabolic disorder is diabetes. The viral diseases that affect pancreas will interfere into the healthy secretion of insulin and
cause diabetes. The abnormal secretion of some hormones that will disrupt the levels of insulin will also result in diabetes. Some of such hormones are adrenocortical hormone, adrenalin and thyroid hormone.
Causes Of Type Two Diabetes
Type two diabetes is a condition when the pancreas secretes enough insulin and the human body cannot absorb or utilize it to convert glucose into energy. The major causes of the type two
diabetes are:
Hereditary or inherited traits
Ageing
Poor diet
Obesity
Sedentary lifestyle
Stress
Drug induced
Infection
Hypertension
Serum lipids and lipoproteins
Some genes that are genetically passed from one generation to
cause diabetes will make the person diabetic. The probability is determined by the closeness of the relationship. Ageing deteriorates the metabolic functions and this also will contribute to the onset of diabetes. Nutritional deficiencies may also cause diabetes, since malnutrition will overload the metabolic system. Obesity induces a resistance to insulin in the human body, which will cause diabetes.
Lack of exercise will result in the deterioration of the flexibility and malfunctioning the metabolic system and cause
diabetes.
The stress due to physical injury or emotional disturbance will trigger diabetes. Clozapine (Clozaril), olanzapine (Zyprexa), risperidone (Risperdal), quetiapine (Seroquel) and ziprasidone (Geodon) are notorious for inducing diabetes. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome will induce diabetes. Hypertension is a major factor that
causes diabetes. The increased cholesterol levels will cause diabetes very easily. It is very vital to have a healthy lifestyle to defend this most common disorder, which is a silent killer.
